How to Install and Activate Office 2024

Installing Office 2024 takes about ten minutes. Follow these steps with your product key.

Before you start

• Remove older Office versions if the installer asks.
• Use a stable internet connection.
• Have your 25-character product key.

Steps

1. Go to setup.office.com and sign in with your Microsoft account (create a free one if needed).
2. Enter your product key and select your country or region.
3. Select Download and run the installer.
4. Wait for the install to finish, then open Word or Excel.
5. Check that Office shows as activated (File, Account).

If activation fails

• Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to redeem the key.
• Check your internet connection and the date and time on the PC.
• Restart the PC and open Office again.
