Project 2024 Standard vs Professional
What each version includes and who needs Professional
By Atif H., CEO, AME Enterprise
Microsoft Project 2024 comes in two desktop versions. Both create schedules, Gantt charts and resource plans. The main difference is how well Professional works with a team.
Project 2024 Standard
For one person planning projects on their own computer. It does not connect to Project Online or Project Server, so plans stay with the user.
Project 2024 Professional
Everything in Standard, plus connection to Project Online and Project Server, so a team can share plans and resources. It also adds the collaboration features for managed projects.
Which one do you need?
- Solo planner or freelancer: Standard is enough.
- Team or company with shared project data: choose Professional.
- Not sure: Professional is the safer choice if you may share plans later.
